Polestar I-OP66LCR is equipped with a tweeter that supports multi-angle rotation. The tweeter can be adjusted in multiple angles to adapt to complex or restrictive installation spaces. The speaker can be installed in either an in wall configuration or an on wall configuration. The dual configurations allows for flexible installation in any sort space without compromises aesthetic design of the room.

The cabinet houses an 1” silk ball tweeter with a neodymium driver and a injection molded plastic tweeter panel. The dual 6” mid-woofers use paper composite cones coated with vibration dampening materials. This all comes together to form a 2-way, 3 driver sealed cabinet design.

The real wood cabinet is coated with a simple matte white paint and the overall impression is one of elegance and simplicity.

War of the Worlds is an effects heavy, emotionally charged movie recounting the trials of an ordinary family trying to survive an alien invasion.

While viewing the scenes of the initial invasion, lightning strikes pierce the sky and there is also the accompanying roar of thunder. The I-OP66LCR reproduced every thunderous roar quickly and with control. The performance is one of clarity with no distortion in the lower bass frequencies. The speed of the thunder, the thump of explosions is all clearly conveyed with sharply delineated difference in imaging.

Frightened by the lightning strikes, Dakota Fanning screams uncontrollably in this scene. The screams reproduced by the I-OP66LCR neodymium magnet driver were crisp with a penetrating smooth transition. The small tremors, sounds in the throat and other subtle changes in details were also very vividly presented.

The sequence where the bridge is destroyed is a fantastic place to experience the full potential of the 10” metal diaphragm of the LS-SW10V2. This sequence will blow your pants off. As the bridge explodes, the bass frequencies envelop you starting from the floor. The front speakers and subwoofer are synced to give you a feeling of full immersion.

During the segment where the tripod alien monstrosities emerge from huge pits in the ground, the I-OP66LCR fully demonstrates the positioning capabilities of these speakers. The shouts and screams of the crowd is precisely pin pointed and as the aliens destroy the city, the various sounds of collapsing buildings and other chaotic environmental effects are fully realized. Each sound whether it be shattering glass or a car crash is accurately defined with a clear sense of directionality.
